Radio Television Caraibes: Haiti, Actualites, Nouvelles, News, Politique: Gabriel Fortuné: My resignation stands Gabriel Fortuné: My resignation stands ================================================================================ La Redaction on 05/03/2012 06:57:00 During a press conference held Sunday Night at Nami Hotel in Les Cayes, Gabriel Fortuné reiterated his intention to resign his post. Responding to a demonstration held two days earlier by several hundreds of citizens encouraging him to stay, the President’s Representative in the south department explained he will step aside as soon as President Martelly names his successor. Gabriel Fortuné pointed fingers at the Minister of the Interior Thierry Mayard-Paul, his chief of staff Max Buteau whom he accused of boycotting his work in the department. He also mentioned Claudia Champagne, sister of the first lady and member of the President’s private cabinet, as one who tried to trap him. Gabriel Fortuné says Businessman Daniel Evinx, owner of the lush resort Dan’s Creek in Port-Salut is the “real” Representative. He accused Mr. Evinx of making decisions and taking initiatives that should fall under the control of the Representative. Daniel Evinx rejects Mr. Fortune’s allegations and will give his side of the story on the popular nighttime show Edloz Live from 8 to 10 PM Monday night. Source: Ed Lozama
